Why would someone want coaching?
You can accomplish a lot on your own by taking risks, facing fear and choosing growth, but there inevitably comes a time where you will experience a roadblock you do not know how to get through, or a transition where the next step is unclear. You may go through a life circumstance that requires you to re-define what is meaningful to you, or you've endured a painful life experience you don’t know how to let go of and move past. Many people can experience an ambiguous feeling of discontent, despite the changes they make in life, but are unable to identify why.
If you’re experiencing any of these things, coaching is one of the most powerful choices you can make. Getting a non-biased perspective, to help gain some clarity on what we’re experiencing and why can be that extra little nudge we need to create the positive shift we desire. I don’t believe in a quick fix but I have learned a few tricks that will get you where you want to go faster and allow you to find more enjoyment along the way.
What is the difference between Coaching & Counseling?
Counselors are trained in psychology, and their education covers a range of topics, including human development, mental health, and family dynamics. They help address their clients' personal, social, and psychological issues, often by analyzing past experiences to understand their impact on current functioning.
Coaches can be trained in many of the same areas as counselors, but their focus is on supporting clients to progress forward in life through a collaborative approach. Using various techniques and methodologies, coaches help clients assess their present experience, clarify their desired future experiences, and create actionable plans to achieve these goals. Throughout this collaboration, coaches provide guidance, support, and accountability, while highlighting areas for personal development and growth.
While coaches are not mental health professionals and do not diagnose clients, their role is equally valuable and transformative. The knowledge and value a coach brings are substantial. They empower clients to take control of their lives, explore past issues that may be hindering progress, and utilize flexible methodologies to guide and motivate them while encouraging the alignment of the clients' behaviors and actions with desired results. Coaching is an evolving and growing discipline designed to help clients find their most authentic selves and achieve their ideal life by teaching the skills necessary for discipline and consistency, leading to long-term success.
Is coaching right for you?
Coaching may be right for you if you are looking to make positive changes in your life, enhance your well-being, and find balance as a mother and in your relationships. You may consider coaching if:
- You want to improve your self-awareness and better understand your needs, desires, and boundaries within the context of motherhood and relationships.
- You feel overwhelmed by the demands of parenthood and need strategies to manage stress and maintain your personal identity.
- You are open to personal growth and ready to explore new perspectives and strategies for self-care and emotional well-being.
- You seek accountability and support to stay motivated and on track with your personal goals while balancing family responsibilities.
- You want to strengthen your relationships, including improving communication and creating deeper connections with your partner and children.
- You desire a more fulfilling relationship to motherhood and want to cultivate forgiveness, self-compassion, and a sense of freedom within yourself
- You desire a more fulfilling life and want to align your actions with your values and aspirations as an individual and a mother.
Coaching is a collaborative and dynamic process tailored to your unique needs and goals. If you are committed to making changes and ready to invest in your personal development, coaching can be a valuable tool to help you thrive as your best self in parenthood and relationships.
If you're still uncertain whether coaching is right for you, rest assured that I fully understand coaching is an investment in yourself. That is why I offer an extensive complimentary discovery call. The aim of the discovery call is to learn a little about you and your current challenges, help you understand how my work can benefit you, and answer any questions you may have. These calls offer you a direct taste of my coaching style, and by the end of the call, we should have a good sense of whether we would work well together.
What can I expect to achieve with coaching and does it really work?
Health coaching helps you to create a foundational structure for optimal living but it only works if you do; you get out of it what you put in.
Most of the changes happen outside of the coaching sessions and while I cannot guarantee that you will take action towards achieving your desired goals and outcome, what I can guarantee is that during our time together you will have everything you need, in the form of resources, support and accountability, to make the changes happen.
As a general outcome you can expect to:
- Deepen your connection and understanding to your needs through improved self-awareness and healing
- See an increase in confidence and motivation due to greater clarity on your goals and the why behind them
- Discover optimal lifestyle habits and patterns that work for you and let go of the one's that are not so helpful
- Uncover what stress means for you and learn tools to gain greater resilience and adaptability
- Become aware of areas in your life in which you need more balance and create the way of living that suits your values.
How do coaching sessions take place?
Virtual coaching takes place through a user-friendly video chat platform, which you can access using a computer equipped with a microphone and webcam, or a mobile phone with a good internet connection. If you prefer, we can also conduct coaching sessions over a regular phone call, giving you the flexibility to participate from anywhere - whether it's in your pajamas from home or while parked in your car on a lunch break!
Our goal is to make coaching as convenient as possible for you. You don't have to worry about getting dressed, having a clean house or rushing through traffic to attend a session. All you need to do is come prepared and ready to engage. With virtual coaching, you can benefit from the same level of support and guidance as you would in-person, while enjoying the added flexibility and comfort of attending from a location that suits you.
What happens during coaching sessions?
In our very first session, we will work together to define specific objectives and outcomes for our time together during the program. I encourage you to have something to write with and take notes. I will tailor the program to include information and exercises that are relevant to those outcomes. Each session will follow a structure so you will know what to expect, but they will allow for flexibility on focus depending on what you bring to the table that particular day.
Sometimes I will email you handouts to have ahead of our session, as well as exercises between sessions. You will need to have access to these during our time together.
Sessions usually last about 50 minutes.
Will I recover the investment I put into coaching? Is coaching worth it?
As your coach, my goal is to collaborate with you in identifying your core values and priorities. Together, we will establish strategies to cultivate healthier habits that align with your goals, and I will hold you accountable to stay on track and make progress toward the outcomes you desire.
Coaching is a commitment you make to yourself and your own personal growth. My work is designed to help you transform your life, but it requires your active participation and dedication. If you remain committed to showing up for yourself, even on the tough days, and have the willingness to lean into the hard work, while remaining open to new ideas, you will inevitably see the changes you've been longing for. By holding yourself accountable and implementing the strategies we develop together, you can create a more fulfilling and satisfying life. Investing in yourself and your personal growth is the most valuable decision you can make, and the benefits will extend to every aspect of your life. What could be more valuable than transforming your life?
What happens if I can't make a session?
If you're unable to make a coaching session, I ask that you provide me with a minimum of 24-hour notice. However, I understand that unexpected events may occur, so in the event of an emergency, you will receive 1 free reschedule without forfeit on a 6 session package and 2 reschedules on a 12 session package.
Any other cancelled sessions with less than 24 hours’ notice will be forfeited.
